Read this great end times prophecy about the called and the chosen and the way in which God will use his chosen to change the world and bring glory to the name of the Lord:

1Cor.1:26. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27. But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28. And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29. That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31. That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Among the called there are not many wise, mighty, or well born. Among the chosen there are none. If the wise man after the flesh who is called by God would qualify for His choosing then let him become foolish in this world that he may become wise. Let the mighty man become weak and let the noble man humble himself under the mighty hand of God.

God offers no explanation to the creature for his choosing other than to say that it is his good pleasure to chose whom he will. He does everything from his own council without advise or the need to justify himself. He doesn't need to explain himself because He's God. And so we know that all of his ways are just and true simply because "it is He" that performs them. Because of that simple reason, and that reason alone they are righteous ways. But he helps our understanding by expressing this reason in another way:

"That no flesh should glory in his presence"

There is a day coming to this world in which the Lord alone will be exalted. A day in which the darkness of this world shall be completely scattered and the chaos and the ruin shall be completely overcome! In this great day the Lord will be glorified in the people of his choosing, he will use them among the nations to bring glory to his name. Who has God chosen today?

The foolish
The weak
The lowly
The despised
The things which are not, the nothings

He has chosen the nothings of this world for a very special mission. Through Christ they will bring to nothing the things of this world that are now. If God was pleased to create a living man out of the lowly dust of this earth by breathing life into his empty form, would he not be much more glorified as he brings a new creation man out of nothing to rule and reign with him through the resurrection power of the Lord Jesus Christ? So if you consider yourself to be a nothing today, then rejoice! God has declared that he would choose nothings and that for them Jesus Christ would become all of their wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.

Jn.3:30. He must increase, but I must decrease.

Rev.17:14. ......... he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Hey, CR., That was pretty good!

Luk 17:10
So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

Thanks Stan, Like that Luke passage. My situation makes me see a great deal of the Bible as "end times" teachings. All of it really. It gets to be more timely than the morning news paper, and the news is a lot better to! LOL!
