part 1
I like to open our bibles to the book of Ephesians chapter 6.
Starting with verse 11.

(11) Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
(12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
(13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
(14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
(15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
(16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
(17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

This armor consists of spiritual realities that we as Christians need to put on each day. We need to be protected. As we enter the mission field we are always subject to be attacked form the enemy. And to put on the full armor we need to have faith in Jesus Christ.

In 2 Corinthians 10:4 It says:
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;
In other words the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world but spiritual weapons.

These realities are compared to the outfit that roman soldiers would wear.

One of our spiritual weapons is The Belt Of Truth:
Eph 6:14 says : Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth
The Belt of truth refers to the truth of the word of God as well as the truthfulness we should display in our daily lives. Te Belt of truth sets us apart from people who do not follow God. Me must be sanctified to wear the belt of truth. In John 17:17 Jesus prayed that God would sanctify us by the truth. To sanctify means to set apart for a special purpose and purify. The truth helps us stay on mission for God, and avoided falling back to sin.
Remember, Satan is always a liar.
As written in the book of John 8:44 we need to concern ourselves with the truth.

Another spiritual weapon is referred to the Breastplate of Righteousness.
Eph 6:14 tell us also to put on the Breastplate of Righteousness.
This refers to doing the right thing. And we can only do the right thing after we have put on the righteousness of Jesus Christ. This happens when we trust Christ as our savior.
In Rom 5:1 it says:
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Our faith is the power link that connects our breastplate with God’s infinite power. When believing in Jesus, we receive all the power and benefits of being righteous in God’s sight.

Another important function of the Breastplate of Righteousness is revealed by the action of Christ’s blood on our conscience. The blood of Jesus spiritually washes us clean from our sin. This cleansing action removes potential footholds that would have caused us to be vulnerable to the devils attacks. And with this piece of armor covering us with the blood of Christ, the devil has nothing in us to exploit.

The third piece of armor is the Sandals of Preparation.
We got to watch wear we walk.
Our feet have to be covered by Gods armor.
Eph 6:15 says:
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace
This speaks of spreading the word of God. Our job is to testify to the lost that there is forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ. We must be ready to go wherever he sends us.
Spread the Gospel, that’s is what it is all about right?
You know those who do this are said to have beautiful feet. Tell your neighbor they have beautiful feet.
It says that in Rom 10:15
How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace

When the wicked one attacks there is a shield we use.
The Shield of Faith.
Eph 6:16 says:
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked
The evil one always sends the fiery darts our way. We are to place our faith in God’s promises when we are attacked with fear and doubt.
There are several things we as Christians must trust in.
Trust in God’s word as the truth.
Trust that God will provide our needs and protect us from the evil one.
Believe that God is with us and lives in us.
Believe that Christ’s sacrifice paid the penalty for our sins.
Believing that through faith we have Christ’s authority over evil.

When we believe our faith gives it power to manifest in our lives. Do you believe that?
In Mark 9:23 Jesus said:
If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
That’s good enough for me.
Our faith must be based on the word of God. Anything else is not reliable.
The devil is always trying to get us to believe his lies. Once we believe his lies our shield is down. That opens a door for him to come in.

part 2
The Helmet Of Salvation
Now the Bible tells us that we also must protect our head.

Take the helmet of salvation (Ephesians 6:17).

The head speaks of knowledge. We need to understand that we have been given assurance of salvation seeing that it is God who will carry us through. While Satan wants to keep believers ignorant of these truths, and to keep them in continual doubt and, Jesus wants to set them free.

Remember, God speaks o us through our spirit. Not our thoughts. Our inward person, the spirit, is what is close to God. Our spirit leads and guides us. Satan does not communicate with our spirit. For we are in God and God is in us. So he uses our minds.
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profited nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63)

You can tell if you are receiving something from God, or from your mind. Have you ever got ready to do something and you have a feeling in your heart not to do it? But your mind say’s do it! And after you do it you then find that what you did was a mistake.

Listen for God to speak to you. Put on the Helmet, Then Satan cannot mislead you.
Be free in Christ. “So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).

The Sword Of The Spirit
The scripture speaks of an offensive weapon in the believer’s armor.

“the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17).
What is the sword? It’s the word of God.

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb 4:12)

The believer needs to understand how to use the Bible effectively when the attacks of the enemy come. But to use the word of God you must read the word.
Through my bible studies I am at about 4 hours a day. Plus a 10-hour a day job. If I can do it anyone can. God will provide time.

Maintain Constant Communication With God.
Now we are ready to do battle. We know our mission. We are all suited up. But we need guidance. How do we achieve this? Just like soldiers in the army they have to stay in constant communication with their leader. How do we do this? Prayer.

“Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:18).

Talking to God on a constant basis can help stop the progress of the Devil. Elsewhere we are commanded to pray unceasingly.
“pray continually” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

Don’t ever think that you pray too much. God loves to hear from you.

In closing I just want to say to be prepared. Put on the Full Armor Of God.
Be ready to go out in that mission field. You never know what the enemy will throw at you. We are all soldiers of Christ. God’s will must be done. Sure there will be casualties, heartaches, and disappointments. But that’s war. A spiritual war.

I pray you will receive joy from reading this. I had a wonderful time studying it and putting it together.

And remember;

“For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 CR 5:7)

God Bless
