Know what the picture at the bottom is?




It’s the Dome of Rock in Jerusalem.
Pretty, isn’t it?

Wanna know what’s in it? Nothing.
Wanna know what it’s used for? Nothing.

It has no altar or furniture inside.
It is not a church or temple used for any type of worship.
Just an empty building that no one uses.

It is a structure that was built over the ruins of the Jewish Temple Mount in the 7th century by the second caliph who then had complete control of Jerusalem.

The Jewish Temple Mount had several levels, each was built up higher than the other. Court of the Gentiles was the lowest level.
The highest level had the foundation stone for the Temple’s Holy of Holies room where the ark was kept.

Dome of the Rock was built over the highest level. Pretty tile floors were laid, except where the foundation stone was, and it was left exposed.


The second photo is a photo taken in the 19th century of the inside.

The Mishnah (Jewish Book of Collections of Rabbinical Teachings - Yoma 5.2, page 167) refers to this Rock platform as the “Foundation Stone.”
It is the specific stone upon which the Ark of the Covenant was secured, that location where God Himself dwelt.
It is the holiest of all locations because it was God’s dwelling place.
It is also the rock over which the Dome of the Rock covers.

Tradition of the Muslims is that Mohammed was in Meca, asleep.
The angel Gabriel came to him and they took a trip to Jerusalem to the place the Dome of the Rock is built. Of course Gabriel had wings to fly, but Mohammed didn’t. So Mohammed gets to ride a winged horse to Jerusalem. He met several of the old biblical prophet’s there (one of whom was Jesus), and Mohammed LED THEM in prayer because HE was the greatest prophet of all.
A ladder appeared there that went into heaven. It had 7 steps.
On the first step, he encountered Adam. They talked a bit, and he continued to the second step where he encountered Jesus. They talked a bit, and he continued.
He makes all the way up and gets to meet Allah.

Some Muslims insist this trip only happened in his dreams, while others like to insist that this mystical trip physically happened.

Anyway, you can google and get all the stories about it if you want.
I just wanted to point this out:

Muhammad's extraordinary journey to heaven started in the Ka'bah in Mecca, where he was sleeping. The archangel Gabriel woke him up and led him outside to Buraq, a white horse (the name means 'white horse') equipped with huge wings.

Revelation 6
2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.




As I said earlier, the Dome of the Rock isn’t really used for anything. It just sits there empty, no furniture or anything. Just surrounding the most Holy Jewish place on earth.
What's the point of it?
Well, one explanation could be that there is Islamic inscriptions all over the structure.
Inscriptions that proclaim to the world (especially those dumb Christians) that Allah is God, and Jesus isn’t. Jesus was just a plain ol' man, servant and prophet of Allah.

Here’s a couple examples of inscriptions:

In the name of Allah, the Merciful the Compassionate. There is no god but Allah. He is One. He has no associate. Unto Him belongeth sovereignty and unto Him belongeth praise. He quickeneth and He giveth death; and He has Power over all things. Muhammad is the servant of Allah and His Messenger.
Lo! Allah and His angels shower blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! Ask blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation. The blessing of Allah be on him and peace be on him, and may Allah have mercy. O People of the Book! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning
Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a Messenger of Allah, and His Word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not 'Three' - Cease! (it is) better for you! - Allah is only One God. Far be it removed from His
transcendent majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender. The Messiah will never scorn to be a servant unto Allah, nor will the favored angels. Whoso scorneth His service and is proud, all such will He assemble unto Him.
Oh Allah, bless Your Messenger and Your servant Jesus son of Mary. Peace be on him the day he was born, and the day he dies, and the day he shall be raised alive! Such was Jesus, son of Mary, (this is) a statement of the truth concerning which they doubt. It befitteth not (the Majesty of) Allah that He shouldtake unto Himself a son. Glory be to Him! When He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is.
Lo! Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So serve Him. That is the right path. Allah (Himself) is witness that there is no God save Him. And the angels and the men of learning (too are witness). Maintaining His creation in justice, there is no God save Him, the Almighty, the Wise. Lo! religion with Allah (is) Islam.
Those who (formerly) received the Book differed only after knowledge came unto them, through transgression among themselves. Whoso disbelieveth the revelations of Allah (will find that) lo! Allah is swift at reckoning!

Praise be to Allah, Who hath not taken unto Himself a son, and Who hath no partner in the Sovereignty, nor hath He any protecting friend through dependence. And magnify Him with all magnificence. Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, the blessing of Allah be on him and the angels and His prophets, and peace be on him, and may Allah have mercy. In the name of Allah, the Merciful the Compassionate. There is no god but Allah. He is One. He has no associate. Unto Him belongeth sovereignty and unto Him belongeth praise. He quickeneth. And He giveth death; and He has Power over all things. Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, the blessing of Allah be on him. May He accept
his intercession on the Day of Judgment on behalf of his people. In the name of Allah, the Merciful the Compassionate. There is no god but Allah. He is One He has no associate. Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, the blessing of Allah be on him. The dome was built by the servant of Allah `Abd [Allah the Imam al-Ma'mun, Commander] of the Faithful, in the year two and seventy. May Allah accept from him and be content with him. Amen, Lord of the worlds, praise be to Allah.
