By the way, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that God probably isn't real happy that we celebrate this.

I brought this very fact that we celebrate Jesus' birthday during the wrong season to the kids at dinner last night and asked what they thought.

One said, what's the big deal? He gets a huge party! Everyone's happy!

But later he said, well, I wouldn't want anyone to celebrate MY birthday on the "wrong" day...maybe God isn't so happy about that. (he's 6, remember)

I asked them if their friends were more excited about the presents and santa, or was it the ultimate gift that Jesus came to earth for us? And they admitted they don't hear much about that from their friends except in Sunday school. Everyone is talking about what gift they want...they admitted that it was not right. They also asked if they GIVE gifts, are they helping their friends, or hurting them by forgetting about Jesus?
