I just read a little since you posted it. I always understood that even if a radio was on the banned list that we as amateur radio operators could possess one as long as we used it on our frequencies. We are allowed to use commercial equipment that will also transmit on other frequencies. I don't see the difference. However, I read the quote from the FCC rules that one guy posted and it kind of looks like banned means contraband. I don't own any of those radios and don't plan on buying any but I know a lot of guys that do to use on 10 meters. As far as the opinions of the guys on the Zed, they argue over anything on a daily basis. I've never seen a more opinionated bunch anywhere. Nothing posted over there surprises me anymore.
