Default The Lord is not in the Wind.

Earthquakes, Fires, Tornadoes,Tsunamis, Tidal Waves, Disease and Volcanic Eruptions are not all terrible examples of Gods Powers and retribution on man and their sin. Many times in history God has become the main source of blame for many disasters that He had nothing to do with, also these things have been attributed to Satan, neither of these ideas are true. Many attribute the disaster in the southern states, of the United States, as a Biblical prophetic action by God, this also is a mistaken idea. Hunger, Petulance, Disease, Infections, and Aids are also attributed to some interstellar, Intergalactic or religious action, this idea is also full of holes and without merit.

We must realize that God is not in the wind, He is not always the controlling factor of many things that plague mankind upon this earth. The Bible shows us many examples of disasters that occurred without Gods intervention. The Biblical prophecy's of disasters that will occur are ordained by God, in other words, since God knows the future, He knows what will and will not take place. When the prophecy's are more specific and state that God deals these things to happen, He will cause them to happen.

Lets ask a question, Is God the orator of all disasters? The answer is no. Is God causing aids and starvation all around the world? The answer is no. Is God causing wars and rumors of wars? The answer is again, No. These things are attributed to God because, many are misunderstanding Biblical prophecy. All these disasters are a link to end times actions, and not the total sign. Its a combination of events that illuminate the signs of the times and not just a single event.

Lets read 1st Ki 19:11-13; And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquakewind= gale, storm or tempest, “but the LORD was not in the wind.” There are natural forces, set up by God, that creates winds, many times these forces create a greater wind unto and including Hurricanes, does this mean that God causes the up-surgence of these disastrous winds? No.“but the LORD was not in the wind.”)

As each day goes by, we must evaluate what we know and what we have learned. We see changes in the world in which we live and must change as the world gets closer to the end. Change not as the world itself changes but rather change our understanding of Biblical prophecy and interpretation. “the LORD was not in the earthquake.” The Bible speaks of this world as a living in-tidy, a living force, that was created by God to evolve and change as the years continued.

The earthquakes that are common are those that are changing the landscape, this is the breathing of the inner earth, that is still changing, the earthquakes that are controlled by God are those, again of prophecy that are the direct result of God retribution against man, as noted in Rev 8:5; And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. These verses will help you to understand. Rev_11:13, Rev_11:19; 1Ki_19:11; Isa_29:6; Zec_14:5; Mat_24:7, Mat_27:52-54; Act_4:31; Act_16:26.

Great earthquake disasters are a direct result of mans, fore knowledge that he is building in an unsafe area and is not always the result of Godly intervention. The Phoenicians built their city in the middle of a swamp, many California cities are built on earthquake faults, Japan and many other great city's are built in areas that should have never been considered as a good location, and there are many other examples. You don't build a city next to a volcano. Jesus stated the truth when He used the parable of building a house upon the sand. Mat 7:26-27; And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Isa 29:6 is another example of Godly intervention; Thou shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire. We must be careful not to attribute man made disasters to Gods intervention. Man creates his own trouble, aids, cancer, poverty, famon, petulance and others. These things are caused by mans inhumanity to man and non- compliance to the Laws of God. Sin kills.
Isa 29:6 -
Isa_5:26-30, Isa_28:2, Isa_30:30, Isa_33:11-14; 1Sa_2:10, 1Sa_12:17, 1Sa_12:18; 2Sa_22:14; Mat_24:7; Mar_13:8; Luk_21:11; Rev_11:13, Rev_11:19, Rev_16:18

1Ki 19:12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. “the LORD was not in the fire.” Exo_9:23, “And the Lord sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along the ground; and the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt.” So in Psa_105:32, referring to the plagues upon Egypt, it is said, “He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.” So again, Psa_78:48, . The Bible is specific on which plagues are Gods punishment, but man has and probably will continue to attribute all disasters to God.

Forest fires are mostly, nature taking care of itself, removing all clutter, but many times, fires are set by man. When God uses fire He lets us know, as in Rev 8:7, The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. The easiest way to learn about Gods intervention and the difference is by looking at the account of Moses and the exodus.

1Ki 19:13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah? So what is all this about? Mankind has become a hateful creature. They dictate what is right and wrong, what is good and evil, what is righteous and unrighteous. They kill and say that they are doing God service, they lie to obtain, they steal to obtain. They blame God for everything that goes wrong, from illness to natural disasters. But after the Wind, the Earthquake and the Fire, then we see God, in the stillness. In the quiet, in the serenity, in the recovery. “What doest thou here, Elijah?” Peace. We must all learn to be still in all manner of calamity, so that we can hear God, a small still voice that says,”I am here.” Remember to ponder, the LORD was not in the wind. ars.
