I stick with 800 or 1000hz myself and have my TS-570D(g) set to 'tune' or zero beat at 1000hz.

I guess that's the nice thing about new rigs and ancient separate transmitters and receivers..... you can set it to where it's comfortable to your ear and that makes it easier to operate longer.

I usually keep mine centered, except during contests where I vary it up a bit to avoid fatigue.
