I worked them on 15 phone last Saturday with 100 watts. I had tried to work them on 20 meters Thursday and we had a bad thunderstorm come through and I had to pull the plug quick. It was neat to work them. I also worked the USS Lexington on 20 meters Saturday. I had not worked a ship before. That was cool as well.

I managed to work VP6DX on 17, 15, 40, 80 in both CW and SSB. 20 M CW, I could never break the pileups on 20 SSB. I also worked them with 10 watts on 17 SSB just to see if I could do it!
Not bad for 100 watts and a G5RV which is not that high up at the apex. Never heard them on 12 or 10 meters due to propagation here in southwest Ontario. They did a great job. I know a couple of times I worked them their signal was S5 or less, so I know I was not that strong to them. |
